The intention of the board of Botafogo-PB was to announce its coach for 2018 only on Sunday (1st), in the traditional feijoada of birthday of the club. However, on Thursday (28), the date of its 86th anniversary, it is already known who will lead the club next season. Go to the Cheerleader Portal.
At only 39, but with some baggage on his resume, Leston Junior will be Belo’s coach next year. The information was confirmed by the president of the club Zezinho Botafogo.
Leston was in the Moto Club-MA in the C Series of 2017. He started the campaign that culminated in the relegation of the red-black Maranhão. With him in charge, the team added five points in eight games, accumulating a win, two draws and five losses.
The coach started his professional career in 2013 at Guarani-MG. In addition, passed through Madureira-RJ, Tupi-MG, Remo-MA, Mogi Mirim-SP and Villa Nova-MG. In theory, he is not part of the profile traced by the board, which sought a professional with knowledge of northeastern football, since Moto Club-MA was his only job in the region.
With Tupi-MG, the commander gained access to the Second Division of the Brazilian Championship in 2015.
Now, the expectation is for the assembly of the cast. After the series C Belo improved with striker Dico, who was loaned to Náutico-PE until the end of the year, as well as striker Djavan, who went to ABC-RN, and has a contract valid until the end of 2018. The goalkeepers Edson and João Manuel, defender Walber, left side Luiz Paulo and Carlos Renato and the fliers Magno and Patrick Mota are the other names confirmed so far.
Next season Belo will play the Paraibano Championship, Brazil Cup, Northeast Cup and Serie C of the Brazilian Championship.
